I highly recommend you looking into this one. You can import all of your Delicious info into it, and continue to tag items into both accounts. What I love about Diigo is the fact that you can highlight and post annotations on the page itself. Then those with Diigo can see your comments and have a conversation on the page itself. If you are a teacher there is a Diigo for Education which gives students their own Diigo accounts. My school recently had 5th graders utilize this social bookmarking tool for collaborative research and writing project. Social Bookmarking, tagging, sharing, etc are definiate digital literacy skills that we educators need to pass along to our students.Melissa Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02171778771024575782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9108217721925832680.post-11722377567146244462010-04-04T19:33:10.731+03:002010-04-04T19:33:10.731+03:00Thanks for this post, gives great details on how t...Thanks for this post, gives great details on how to get started with social bookmarking and the power of sharing. I also started with Delicious, but in terms of better sharing I am now using diigo for social bookmarking. There I can do everything I could at delicious, but also create groups to share and highlight/post notes on specific resources to my groups. We have groups for our different buildings and they are sharing resources and starting conversations around sites. I also didn't need to get rid of delicious, since you can link delicious and diigo so that everything that gets bookmarked on diigo also goes to delicious.
So, yes I still use delicious (since there are more people to network with and more bookmarks to search), but I can 'have my cake and eat it too'- 'have my groups on diigo and share/collaborate on both'.
thanks again for this step-by-step and useful information-
DodieDodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08459933885890643795noreply@blogger.com
